Overview
This bill modifies the way fees are collected for the California Fire Service Training and Education Program. Currently, the State Fire Marshal can charge admission fees and other fees for training events. However, this bill limits the ability to collect these fees to the extent that state appropriations and other funding sources are insufficient to cover the costs of those events. It also clarifies that fees cannot be charged for training provided directly by the State Fire Marshal to local fire services regarding state laws and regulations.
