Bill overview
This bill creates a voluntary tax contribution fund to support wildfire and vegetation management efforts in California. Individuals will be able to designate a portion of their tax liability, exceeding their tax owed, to be transferred to this fund. The Franchise Tax Board will add a designated space to the tax return form for this purpose, and the funds will be allocated to the Department of Conservation for distribution to resource conservation districts in high fire hazard areas. The fund is continuously appropriated and will remain in effect until January 1, 2032, unless contributions reach a minimum level.
