Bill overview
This bill establishes a sales and use tax exclusion for projects funded by the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority. Starting in 2026, the authority can provide this exclusion to projects that promote California-based manufacturing, jobs, advanced manufacturing, or reduce greenhouse gases and pollution. The bill also extends this exclusion through 2028 and adds nuclear fusion technology facilities to the eligible projects. Furthermore, it introduces labor requirements for projects receiving financial assistance, particularly for large employers, and prohibits the authority from approving projects unless certain labor compliance standards are met.
