Bill overview
This bill directs the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) to conduct a comprehensive study on the effects of increased tariffs and reciprocal tariffs on California’s international trade. The study will assess impacts on the state’s economy, employment, consumer affordability, and infrastructure funding. GO-Biz will also provide resources to support international trade activities for small businesses and convene a freight advisory committee to discuss the study’s scope. The study’s findings must be submitted to the Legislature by January 1, 2029.
