Bill overview
This bill would eliminate a requirement within California’s CalWORKs program that recipients provide documentation of immunizations for their children who are not enrolled in school. Currently, families must demonstrate that their children have received age-appropriate vaccinations before receiving benefits. The bill would shift the responsibility to inform applicants and recipients of the existing school immunization requirements. It also removes a restriction on considering parental needs when determining CalWORKs grants until immunization documentation is provided.
