Bill overview
This bill changes how California’s community colleges are audited and reported to the state legislature. Instead of the Board of Governors reporting on audit exceptions and corrective actions, the Chancellor’s Office will now be responsible for that reporting. Starting in the 2027-28 fiscal year, this information will be included in the annual audit report required by the Joint Legislative Audit Committee, providing a more comprehensive view of community college financial health and management practices.
