Bill overview
This bill requires the California Environmental Protection Agency and the Natural Resources Agency to report to the Legislature on the implementation of a state of emergency declaration made in 2025, which temporarily suspended environmental regulations to expedite fuel reduction projects. Specifically, it mandates reports on projects undertaken under coastal development permits and the acreage of those projects from 2020-2026. The bill also exempts certain fuel modification and reduction projects, as well as electrical grid resilience projects, from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
