Bill overview
This bill creates a civil penalty of up to $75,000 that local agencies can impose on individuals operating drones at emergency scenes if their actions impede firefighters, law enforcement, medical personnel, or military personnel. Local agencies, through the Attorney General or county/city attorneys, can pursue legal action to enforce this prohibition and seek penalties, injunctions, and attorney’s fees. The bill includes an exception for individuals with a federal Operational Waiver from the FAA.
