Bill overview
This bill modifies how property tax revenue is allocated to California cities. Currently, auditors reduce the amount distributed to qualifying cities by amounts exchanged with community service districts and by a specific formula. This bill removes those reductions, changing the way property tax revenue is shared among local agencies. It also requires the state to reimburse local agencies for any costs associated with implementing these changes, and includes provisions to adjust allocations in Santa Clara County to account for ERAF reimbursements.
