Bill overview
This bill changes the penalties for violating the Political Reform Act of 1974 by making both the person paying for the political advertisement and the committee that paid them jointly liable for any resulting fines. It also requires committees to disclose when they’ve paid for advertisements, and establishes a new requirement for the Dental Board of California to create and implement an outreach program to encourage students from underserved communities to pursue careers in dentistry. The bill also clarifies that no reimbursement is required for local agencies or school districts due to the creation of a new crime.
