Bill overview
This bill updates California’s coastal planning requirements to address the impacts of sea level rise. It allows the California Coastal Commission and the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission to recognize existing sea level rise plans and information prepared by local governments as fulfilling the requirements for new plans. The bill also encourages local governments to proactively consult with these commissions early in the planning process to ensure their plans meet necessary standards.
