Overview
This bill updates California’s Community College Promise program to make it easier for students to qualify for fee waivers. It lowers the required semester units for eligibility from 12 to 9, and requires community colleges to provide specific information to Promise recipients about their eligibility period. Additionally, the bill expands workers’ compensation protections for hospital employees, including presumptions for infectious diseases, cancer, musculoskeletal injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, and respiratory diseases, extending these presumptions for a longer period after termination of employment.
