This bill, the Cannella Environmental Farming Act of 1995: Managed Honeybee Health Program, would establish a program to improve the health and well-being of managed honeybees in California. The Department of Food and Agriculture, in consultation with a scientific advisory panel, would be authorized to provide grants for projects that directly or indirectly support honeybee health, such as research, extension services, and technical assistance. Funds for the program would be collected and deposited into a special fund within the Climate Smart Agriculture Account, contingent upon legislative appropriation.
