Bill overview
This bill amends California law to broaden the definition of ‘heritage schools’ to include schools that provide services to children younger than 4 years and 9 months, such as those in kindergarten or grades 1-12. It also requires these schools to notify parents or guardians that they are exempt from childcare licensure and do not satisfy California’s compulsory education requirements. Furthermore, the bill revises the Second Neighborhood Infill Finance and Transit Improvements Act (NIFTI-2) to allow cities and counties to allocate property tax revenues to enhanced infrastructure financing districts, rather than just sales tax revenues, and removes a requirement regarding coterminous district boundaries.
