Overview
This bill changes the rules for school employees in California to become permanent employees. Currently, school districts with fewer than 250 students had different rules. This bill eliminates those differences, allowing all school districts, regardless of their average daily attendance, to classify employees as permanent after two years of service and reelection. It also removes a provision related to unionization affecting permanent status and simplifies the dismissal process for probationary employees.
