Bill overview
This bill amends California law to clarify and expand the definition of trespass, particularly concerning Indian lands. It makes it a misdemeanor to enter Indian lands with animals, for the purpose of harming property, or interfering with lawful business, and to re-enter those lands after being asked to leave. The bill also clarifies that trespass warnings given by tribal police officers are sufficient. Furthermore, it addresses trespass on private property after being asked to leave by a peace officer or owner, and establishes a timeframe for re-entry before being considered a trespass.
