Bill overview
This bill requires the California Office of Emergency Services (OES) to conduct regular tabletop exercises involving key personnel and agencies to improve disaster preparedness. These exercises will simulate various catastrophic disasters and evaluate participant emergency plans. Furthermore, the bill mandates OES to report on these exercises to legislative committees and utilize federal grant funding to offset associated costs. It also directs OES to coordinate with Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs to provide disaster preparedness training in vulnerable communities, utilizing risk assessment data and testing community notification systems.
