Overview
This bill changes the deadlines for voters to verify their signatures on vote by mail ballots. Currently, voters have 8 to 14 days after an election to provide a signature verification statement. The bill reduces these deadlines to 2 to 22 days for regularly scheduled statewide elections and 8 to 5 days for non-statewide elections. It also allows elections officials to use drop boxes to receive signature verification statements and requires them to add signatures from these statements to voter registration records.
