Overview
This bill amends California law to allow winegrowers to possess and transport brandy for aging on their premises and to authorize craft distillers to transport brandy to winegrowers for similar purposes. It also increases the amount of prepackaged spirits a craft distiller can sell to consumers and expands the ability of out-of-state distillers to directly ship spirits to California consumers. The bill establishes a crime for selling and shipping distilled spirits without a permit and extends the direct shipping provisions until January 1, 2027.
