Bill overview
This bill allows local governments to more quickly and comprehensively address abandoned vehicles posing health and safety hazards. It expands the ability to dismantle vehicles that cannot be moved, even without prior 10-day notice, and streamlines the process for doing so. Specifically, it removes the requirement for both a public nuisance determination and a property owner’s release before dismantling, while still requiring notification to owners and lienholders and providing a hearing option.
