Bill overview
This bill updates California law to allow utilities to provide aggregated energy usage data to building owners and operators. Currently, utilities must deliver this data to the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. This bill expands the options for data delivery, permitting utilities to use alternative systems approved by the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission. It also clarifies data delivery requirements and establishes guidelines for public disclosure of benchmarking information.
