Overview
This bill changes how juvenile case files can be inspected. Currently, only a limited number of officials could access these files. The bill expands access to include attorneys representing parties in civil lawsuits involving the juvenile case, as well as attorneys representing individuals involved in juvenile proceedings. It also adds provisions for the county child welfare agency and probation departments to access these files. The bill imposes a state-mandated local program due to the expanded access requirements.
