Overview
This bill allows the counties of Contra Costa and Los Angeles to impose transactions and use taxes for general or specific purposes. Los Angeles can levy a tax up to 0.5%, subject to voter approval, and Contra Costa can levy a tax up to 0.625%, also subject to voter approval. These taxes would exceed the standard 2% limit for the counties, but would not be counted towards that overall limit.
