Overview
This bill directs the Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force to assess the health costs and impacts of high-severity wildfire smoke in California. The task force will collaborate with the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment and the State Department of Public Health to estimate health impacts, develop a cost model, and recommend ways to improve the state’s Wildfire and Forest Resilience Action Plan to better address smoke-related health issues. The assessment findings will be incorporated into the next update of the action plan.
