Overview
This bill updates the regulations for short-term residential therapeutic programs in California. Starting January 1, 2027, these programs will need to renew their licenses annually. Specifically, programs with five or more citations within the past year, or those located in counties with fewer than 75,000 residents without a high school or hospital, will be subject to this annual renewal requirement. Programs receiving fewer than five citations after an annual review will be exempt from ongoing annual renewal.
