Overview
This bill requires coaches of high school athletic programs, including those in private schools and those participating in the California Interscholastic Federation, to complete annual training in pupil mental health, as well as initial and subsequent training every two years on sudden cardiac arrest and youth athletics behavioral and mental health training. It expands the existing California High School Coaching Education and Training Program to include these new requirements, starting in the 2027-28 school year.
