Overview
This bill requires the Department of Water Resources, in collaboration with the State Water Resources Control Board and the Department of Fish and Wildlife, to conduct a comprehensive study of water availability in two Central Valley watersheds. The study will analyze historical flow rates, existing water diversions, and environmental regulations to inform future water permit applications for underground storage. The study’s findings will be used to assess water availability for standard and temporary permits.
