Overview
This bill addresses vacancies on the boards of directors for California’s district agricultural associations. Currently, the Governor has 90 days to appoint a replacement for a vacant board member, and the board must have a minimum number of members to hold a quorum. If these conditions aren’t met, the board can temporarily appoint a director to fill the gap and maintain a quorum. The Governor can then appoint a permanent replacement for the temporary director to serve out the remainder of the original term.
