Overview
This bill expands the ability of postsecondary educational institutions and their designated officials to seek temporary restraining orders and injunctions to protect students from unlawful violence or credible threats of violence. It allows institutions to seek protection for students and the campus itself, and it broadens the types of conduct that can trigger such orders to include telephone calls, email correspondence, and other forms of communication. The Judicial Council is required to develop standardized forms to facilitate these requests.
