Bill overview
This bill changes how drivers can address speeding tickets in Tennessee. Instead of always having to appear in court, drivers who pay their fines can now opt to take an approved online driver education course. Successfully completing the course within 90 days can lead to the removal of points from their driving record, up to a maximum of five points. The bill establishes a process for online courses and certificate issuance by the Department of Safety and Homeland Security.
