Bill overview
This bill amends Tennessee law to broaden the definition of adulteration offenses related to food, liquids, and pharmaceuticals. Specifically, it expands the crime to include intentionally adding substances to these products with the intent to cause involuntary intoxication, bodily injury, serious bodily injury, or death. The penalties for these offenses are also adjusted, with more severe consequences for actions intended to cause serious harm. The changes will go into effect on July 1, 2026.
