Bill overview
This bill changes the minimum age requirement for obtaining a school bus driver endorsement in Tennessee. Currently, drivers must be 25 years old, but this legislation lowers that age to 23. Local school boards and charter schools will still be able to set additional qualifications for school bus drivers to ensure student safety. The changes will go into effect on July 1, 2026.
