Bill overview
This bill changes Tennessee law to protect the privacy of foster parents and prospective foster parents regarding their firearms and ammunition. It prohibits the Department of Children's Services from asking about the quantity or type of firearms owned, or requiring them to display or provide access to them. However, the department can still inquire about the presence of firearms and ammunition and how they are stored, as long as they don’t require opening secured storage. The law also clarifies that this protection doesn't apply during investigations into abuse or neglect.
