Bill overview
House Bill 2840 creates an income tax credit for Oklahoma National Guard members who live more than 50 miles from their home station. The credit is $1,500 and cannot reduce a taxpayer's tax liability below zero. Any unused portion of the credit can be carried over for up to five years. This bill aims to provide financial support to National Guard members stationed away from their homes.
