Bill overview
Creates the Negligent Testing for Paternity Act. Creates a civil cause of action if an entity negligently performs genetic testing for paternity. Authorizes the aggrieved person to recover actual damages, including, but not limited to, emotional distress. Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Creates a statute of limitation of two years from the date when the person knew or should have reasonably known of the negligence. Applies to all conduct occurring on or after January 1, 1980. Effective immediately.
