Overview
This bill requires school districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies to create and implement policies and procedures for closing school buildings. These policies must address reporting data, student and record transfers, notification to parents and guardians (with a minimum one-month notice and public meeting), asset distribution, and the selection of a records repository for student records. The bill also establishes deadlines for implementing these procedures and requires funding for a transition facilitator.
