Bill overview
This bill prohibits the possession of firearms in certain state buildings and facilities, including banks, churches, courts, theaters, sports arenas, day care centers, hospitals, and liquor establishments. However, there are exceptions for security personnel, law enforcement officers, licensed concealed carriers, and individuals with permission to possess firearms on private property. It also restricts firearm possession near polling places and absent voter ballot processing locations, with limited exceptions for law enforcement and authorized concealed carriers serving in the legislature. Violations are subject to a misdemeanor penalty.
