Bill overview
This bill prohibits Michigan schools from serving or offering certain food additives to students. Starting July 1, 2026, schools will be banned from using brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben, titanium dioxide, and specific artificial food dyes (Red 40, Green 3, Blue 1, Blue 2, and Yellow 6). The bill aims to reduce students' exposure to these substances in school meals.
