Bill overview
The Digital Age Assurance Act creates a new law in Michigan to regulate access to mature content online. It requires manufacturers of devices and application stores to determine a user’s age and provide that information to websites and apps. Websites and apps must block access to mature content for minors and offer parental controls if they provide a substantial amount of such content. The Attorney General’s department will oversee enforcement of the act and can issue rules to guide compliance.
