Overview
This bill modifies how prisoners pay for non-emergency medical, dental, and optometric services. Currently, prisoners pay a copayment for these services if they request them, and their parents or guardians do so if the prisoner is a minor. However, prisoners who intentionally injure themselves and require emergency medical care are responsible for the full cost of treatment, not a copayment.
