Bill overview
This bill repeals a law from 1913, Public Act 206, which regulated telephone companies and telephone lines in Michigan. This 1913 law, MCL 484.125, established the state’s authority to oversee the telephone industry and set rules for its operation. By repealing this older law, the state’s telecommunications regulations are being updated. The bill is contingent on the passage of Senate Bill 351.
