Bill overview
This bill requires Michigan schools to provide professional development for teachers and other school staff on cultural competency. Starting in 2027, the Department of Education will create resources covering topics like diversity, cultural identity, and implicit bias. School districts and academies must then require all educators and certain other school personnel to participate in this training, and the department can provide instructional materials on the history of various cultural groups within the state.
