Bill overview
This bill updates Michigan’s law regarding missing senior and vulnerable adults by creating a statewide alert system. When a senior or vulnerable adult is reported missing, law enforcement will quickly share information with other agencies, broadcasters, and newspapers in the area. The system will utilize the existing wireless emergency medical alert system to rapidly disseminate information to the public, potentially including text message notifications, to aid in the search. It also establishes a plan for the Department of State Police to manage this system.
