Bill overview
This bill requires hotels and motels in Michigan to post notices about human trafficking resources, specifically directing them to contact the state’s human trafficking hotline. It expands the definition of ‘hotel’ to include motels and inns, and mandates that the Department of Transportation post notices at rest stops and welcome facilities, as well as local government-operated facilities and bus/rail stations. The bill also requires notices to be posted on properties found to be linked to public nuisance activity related to prostitution or human trafficking, and at adult entertainment establishments and public airports.
