Bill overview
This bill creates special registration plates for individuals who have specific military or family connections to veterans and those who served in the military. It allows applicants to receive plates recognizing service as a prisoner of war, World War I veteran, Pearl Harbor survivor, or Purple Heart recipient. Additionally, the bill establishes plates for Gold Star Families (families of fallen service members) and Blue Star Families (families of currently serving members), as well as a ‘Next of Kin’ plate for the immediate family of deceased service members. The application process requires proof of eligibility and does not include a service fee.
