This bill amends Michigan’s Memorial Highway Act to establish stricter criteria for renaming state highways as memorials. It allows for the designation of a highway in honor of individuals, groups, organizations, or events that are historically or culturally significant to Michigan or the United States, provided certain conditions are met, such as the subject being deceased or directly related to public service officers or service members who died in the line of duty. The designation is contingent upon Senate Bill 708 also being enacted.
