Bill overview
This law requires school districts and public school academies to create and implement a policy regarding the use of wireless communication devices by students. Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, students will be prohibited from using these devices during instructional time, with exceptions for medically necessary devices, district-owned equipment, devices used for special education, and limited instructional assignments. Schools must post the policy on their website and establish enforcement mechanisms.
