This bill requires public and nonpublic schools in Michigan to implement mobile panic alert systems starting with the 2025-2026 school year. These systems must be able to connect local and state law enforcement, school staff, and first responders for real-time coordination during emergencies. Schools can apply for an exemption if they already have a compliant panic alert system. Non-compliant schools may be ineligible for future school safety grants.
