Bill overview
This bill creates a state tax credit for donations made to certain charitable organizations in Michigan. Eligible organizations include shelters for homeless persons, food kitchens, and food banks that provide overnight accommodation, food, or meals to individuals with low incomes. The credit is capped at $100 for individuals and $200 for joint returns, or 10% of a resident estate or trust’s tax liability, whichever is lower.
