Bill overview
This bill prohibits employers in Michigan from asking job applicants about their past wages, credit history, or credit score. It also prevents employers from requiring employees to sign agreements that prevent them from disclosing their wages or retaliating against employees who do disclose their wages. The goal is to promote pay equity and protect applicants and employees from discriminatory practices based on financial information. This legislation amends existing labor laws to strengthen employee protections.
